GotFrag Network: User Accounts

What are user accounts?

GotFrag user accounts are used as your virtual identity on the GotFrag Network! With a user account, you can download files and game demos, post comments, start threads in our forums, create predictions of upcoming games, and even submit news or an original article for our review.

How do I get a user account?

It's easy, just visit the account registration page and sign up for one! User accounts are free, and only require a valid e-mail (which will need to be confirmed before your account is activated). It takes only a moment to sign up, and we're serious about your privacy - we won't sell your information to anyone and we won't spam you with a bunch of sales material!

Help! I have forgotten my password!

Don't worry - visit this page to have our system generate a new one for you, which will be sent to the e-mail address you specified when creating your account.

I'm concerned about my Privacy!

We are too! Read our Privacy Policy to understand what information we collect and how we use it.

Help, I've been Banned from posting comments!

When users take it upon themselves to abuse the privileges that come with their account, such as spamming in the forums, posting offensive material, using offensive language or disrupting the experience of other users, they are usually banned from further interaction. For more information on bans, read this page.

What does it mean if a comment has been “Fragged”?

This means the comment has hit the minus threshold for the number of people who have rated it negatively (-) and the comment has collapsed.

What does it mean if a comment has been “Spammed”?

This means that either you have marked the comment as spam and it collapsed for your view or that the threshold has been reached of other users marking it as spam and it has automatically collapsed.

What are the (+) and (-) buttons for?

You can rate a comment positively by clicking (+) or negatively by clicking (-) based on how useful or worthwhile you think the comment was. Once the comment hits a certain minus threshold, it gets “Fragged’ and the article collapses. You can still view the article if you click the “Fragged’ icon.

What does it mean when it says a comment has positive or negative “Frags” rating?

This is the positive or negative ratio of ratings a comment has received. For example, if a comment has “3 Frags” that means it has a +3 ratio of positive ratings. If someone decided to mark it as (-), it would then drop to “2 Frags”.

Why can’t I click on any of the buttons associated with the Comment Rating System?

You must be logged into your GotFrag account to use any of the CRS features, so if you don’t have one, register now!
