This demo is from the AGASA (Amateur Gamers Association of South Africa) Champions League. We (Natural Born Killers) faced (Neworder) in a tightly contested match on District. We beat them 13 - 10. I'll be uploading more demos as the league goes on in order to gain a bit of exposure for CoD4 South Africa. I certainly don't think that South African teams lack anything in terms of skill, we're just struggling to get sponsors etc etc.
serious business in that demo - ppl could run in the open without getting picked off in loads of situations - first 4 rounds had some awful calling involved from what I could see (especially around A house) - /kill in strattime is awesome
These are 2 of the top teams in SA atm. We are not pro gamers at all. Mainly just casual guys that want to be competitive but we lack the infustructure and organisation to actually get to a level near Europe competitions. Nevertheless there are guys that still go for it. Quite surprised to see Joe uploaded it here ;).
agree #5, i think people are watching these demos with too high expectations. nice to see m16 / m4 used more (esp without red dot) it wasn't a terrible demo, but not amazing either.
Would be interesting to see how us South Africans would do against the euro giants :P Doubt we'd do well, but then again the demos ive seen from your leagues arent THAT impressive, but i know it is very different once u play against the big teams :>
All comments are appreciated! As mentioned by Kelynt we're not pro gamers, we've got jobs, studies, etc. to take care of. Considering that, we're not doing too bad...I'll be uploading more soon, this wasn't one of my strongest performances either.
I'll be honest, I was under the impression that MOST pro gamers were doing it China-style 8P. I just think that there isn't enough incentive in SA as the biggest competitions in the country don't really offer huge cash or hardware prizes. What's the use of practising your ass off for a competition, coming first and maybe putting 200 bucks in your pocket and walking away witha new mouse?! Not even to mention second place. Companies are also reluctant to sponsor teams because they don't know what they're getting themselves into, they have no idea how they could benefit. Nevertheless, most people in our community are pushing really hard for some recognition for South African gamers, especially the CoD4 community as it's by far the biggest of the lot.
Yeah, it's hard being an online gamer in SA. If you're lucky enough not to have aids in an advanced stage you have to pray every night that Rhinos don't knock your telephone poles down D:
Hehehe, just saw a lion outside my window catching a springbuck :) No, South Africa has no commitment from sponsers when it comes to gaming, but its getting better! Maybe one day :)
Unfortunately we do not live in mud huts and ride elephants to work, like some close minded people might think :) We do have electricity, sometimes. :)
Thanx for the comments guys, although it was one of my worst games, it was a tight game. We still have alot to learn, but like the others have said, SA gaming is just getting started.. literally JUST! :p
To be honest my pet lion runs on a treadmill to power my pc, although i cant play at night Because i need to power our stove. Its nice playing during the day, but our pings via bluetooth dont do so well! :)

How high are both teams to be ranked within SA?

players of top .eu/NA teams also have work, studies, school etc. and don't live in one house to 24/7 bootcamp like wc3 players in china :D
thanks for the upload, no one flag flies over multinational gotfrag
