By: Liam Crowley - Published January 21, 2008 at 11:19 PM EST - Writer Archive
GotFrag delivers the first installment of its new prediction series for Call of Duty 4. Our resident CoD experts Liam "crow" Crowley and Kenneth "fRiJeC" Jensen are joined this week by Stuart "TosspoT" Saw, Michael "Mick" Bradshaw and Lee "pain" Hannah.

The CoDQCup playoffs are well underway now and have presented us with the ideal way to introduce you to GotFrag's new prediction series. It delivers what readers want; predictions, short and sweet, by the people that know the game better than anyone. eSports personalities, top players and senior GotFrag staff only! Each predictor has one sentence to predict an outcome and why.

For the second round of the CoDQCup playoffs, we have enlisted the help of QuadV and CGS shoutcaster Stuart "TosspoT" Saw as well as two UK gaming legends; Michael "Mick" Bradshaw and Lee "pain" Hannah, from Dignitas and 4Kings respectively. This trio will be joining GotFrag's senior Call of Duty writers; Liam "crow" Crowley and Kenneth "fRiJeC" Jensen, to give their views on the upcoming action.

Serious-Gaming versus oXmoze

Serious-Gaming was a household name in Call of Duty 2 but it is the French side who have looked the hotter of this pair in recent weeks. Impressive results at the CG LAN and the Crossfire QCup have proved that oXmoze are a team to watch in Call of Duty 4 and the pressure remains on Serious' new lineup to live up to their name.

I have a lot of faith in this new Serious lineup and I think they will surprise oXmoze.

Oxmoze are good, but it is Serious' time to shine.
The top team of CoD2 versus the form team of CoD4, strength on both sides of the fence but for me form is king and oXmoze should take this.

oXmoze go into this as the favourites, but Serious will come out on top in my opinion.
Serious will seriously take this one...

Tek-9 versus Team Speedlink

Two bitter rivals, Tek-9 and Speedlink go head-to-head for what seems like the hundredth time. Both are sporting new-look rosters and will be looking to prove they still have what it takes to dominate in Call of Duty 4. Watch out for kammYz, niTro and humM3L, the team's respective new faces.

Two quality teams but going on recent form I think Tek-9 might just shave it, especially if kammYz is at his best.
This one will be a repeat of the recent PowerCup final, Tek-9 to take it.
Speedlink want their throne back but Tek-9 were one of the teams that took it from them and I can't see them losing it.
Tough one to call, Speedlink might sneak this one.
Tek-9 are not a force to be taken lightly and I can see them recovering from their recent hiccups to win this one.

xcite versus HeXagon

Two teams you might not expect to see at this stage and you can be sure that both will be happy they weren't paired against one of the more high profile potential opponents. HeXagon overcame Afterlife on a GUID technicality in the last round while xcite more impressivly overcame a struggling but still formidable Logitech side.

HeXagon are lucky to be here really after a forfeit win against Afterlife so I expect xcite to take care of that mistake.

I'm cheering for the Swedes, I think they can take it.
I'll go for xcite on this one because they're starting to make a name for themselves, especially after beating Logitech.

A strange match-up, I'm  surprised both teams got this far but xcite have this I think.
xcite have shown some good results so far, and I'm pretty sure they will put HeXagon down.

fnatic versus DIE

Two Scandinavian giants go head-to-head here in a widely anticipated match-up. Both have had recent trouble with their respective organizations and the question remains as to how drastically it will affect their preparation and build-up for this key tie. The former EYEBALLERS side are perhaps the favorites, but only just.

DIE are a great team but I think they are a bit overhyped right now, fnatic to take this.
fnatic is the favourite for this cup, no sweat here for them.
Scandinvia's best and brightest, fnatic, just have too much for me on form guide, don't be surprised if DIE overturn that though.
fnatic for sure...
DIE just won't die and I can see them winning this one against the odds.

Team Dignitas versus eyeshow

Dignitas take on German underdogs eyeshow next in what looks to be one of the more one-sided games of the round. Eyeshow qualified top of their group but, with no serious achievements to their name yet, they should be easy picking for a full strength Dignitas side.

If Dignitas are practicing this should be easy.
Dignitas got the upper hand, don't think eyeshow can take it.
Every time I back Dignitas to do well they let me down! This wont be one of those times I'm sure... Dignitas to win.
Dignitas still lag behind their reputation but this should be an easy one for them.
