This fall source will have been out for 4 years. In those 4 years the newer and "more revolutionary, better looking" game has not taken over, and the teams that went to play that game for money are coming back to the older, more vulgar, primitive looking game.

I think alot of the source suporters have actually realized what the game actually is and either accepted it or moved to cs1.6 and the ones that just liked it for the eye candy obviously did what the gaming industry wants and that is to follow the next best eye candy game. Which probably runs on a 30 fps engine so even running at 100fps it is still horrible for competitive play. Don't know why casual vs hardcore gamers even argued was 2 different levels/games.
#5 Some of that post might have made sense a while ago, but when Steam stats show Source is increasing and 1.6 is decreasing your comment doesn't make much sense.

he means it's made to run well at 30 fps, unlike 1.6, which is horrible when you only have 30 fps. i don't know how that was so hard to grasp. whether or not it's true, I have no idea.
WRONG joe--... no engine is made to run well at 30 FPS. have you ever played source at 30 FPS? if so then you'll know it doesn't run well. think about what you said then try again.

Everyone knows that the steam stats are incorrect, and plenty of engines are made to run well at 30 fps considering the developers have to consider everyone's hardware and devlop something that will run on a wide range of PC's most will have to run low settings but as long as it runs and sells.
Seriously there are two really good 1.6 tournaments going on at the moment and the only thing you can think to post is a thread about source. Your preaching to the converted here, forget about it.
i don't care what ANY OF YOU SAY. an engine isn't developed to run at 30 FPS. developers give you options to optimize your FPS in the form of decreasing resolution, details and texture settings in case you have terrible outdated hardware. i mean, think about it. If you put all of this time developing something that could render beautiful, jaw dropping scenes, would you want it to run best at 30 FPS? no. you'd want it to run as fast as possible.

There was a thread made about a week or two ago that showed their was a increase in 1.6 over source and it was some hardcore calculations and took everything into account that you can so YOU ARE WRONG.
#1 1.6 > source always has been always will be in every way shape and form including a competitive format.
#2 They sold out, but for 30k just for being there + additional sponsors,endorsements, and other large cash prizes you can't blame them + the fact most of them have been playing "professional cs" for a long time I am sure they wanted to help e-sports but they picked the wrong way, once again you cant blame them though.
#3 CGS will fail, at least with CS:S and hopefully that will be a full return of 1.6 teams/players even if they don't have their old names because they sold it to the CGS but WHO GIVES A SHIT!
#4 The 1.6 community worldwide > source and competitive CS might have taken a turn for the worse in america but for the rest of the world it is certainly continuing on its strong path and like I said previously hopefully with the return of some of the 1.6 teams and maybe a FULL return of col to 1.6 which may not happen it would def bring a lot of ppl over.
I mean think about it, some people converted to source just because of the top teams going, now figure all of those gay kids + the source kids who would come to 1.6 just because of their top teams!
It should be enough that YOU know what game is better. Trying to bash or convince everybody else that 1.6 is better gives the opposition there first reason to ignore you. You take this way too seriously. Understand that no matter what is said, most people will end up doing whatever the hell they want to do anyways.

#14, perhaps you might notice that the increases coincide with breaks from school. it seems to be long-time players coming back to play during the summer/holidays when they're not so busy.
CSS hasnt failed, it just isnt the top pick for competitive CS. To valve its a cash cow. anyone who started CS in the last 4 years play source. they come from other games to source. rarely 1.6 -> CSS. The pubbers might have made the transition as well because there not playing cs for its tiny details that make a difference in 5v5.
