Counter-Strike: Dignitas captures TLR

By: Luis Mira - Published April 26, 2008 at 1:12 PM EDT - Writer Archive
Dignitas has confirmed the signing of the Counter-Strike team known as The Last Resort.
This move marks Dignitas' return to the British Counter-Strike: 1.6 scene, after its previous team moved to CS: Source to play at CGS.

The Last Resort won the United Kingdom KODE5 stop and will be at the Global Finals next month in Moscow, where it will meet the likes of Meet Your Makers or mousesports.

Suffian "Suffz" Arshad is delighted to have agreed a deal with Dignitas, saying that this move will allow the squad to go even further.

"We spoke to newman about the possibility of joining back in January but nothing happened until they approached us last week," Arshad told GotFrag.com. "We are sad to leave TLR after a few months but there was no way we could turn down an offer like Dignitas'.

"As far as management and sponsorship goes, they are the best we could wish for. They are very professional and know how to market their teams really well."

On Dignitas' goals at KODE5, he added: "We're planning to do the best job we can and if all goes well we can upset a few of the better teams.

"We are going to take things one step at a time. We're still new when it comes to international games and we're going to take every event as a learning experience."

Dignitas has the following line-up:

United Kingdom Suffian "Suffz" Arshad
United Kingdom Kal "101" Meek
United Kingdom Mark "Sp|ke" Quigley
United Kingdom Kurtis "Kurt1s" Shore
United Kingdom Alex "AlesKi" Way
