50 calibre 1.6 team update
50 Calibre Gaming is proud to officially announce i95 as its Counter-Strike 1.6 team. Joining the organization only several weeks ago, the team has turned heads across the country. GotFrag recently released an update to their Counter-Strike 1.6 North America Ranking List and named .50cs as the #4 team in North America with EG.USA, x3o, and MoB Gaming placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively.

LAN Update:

50Calibre Gaming's Counter-Strike 1.6 division attended this past weekend's x3o Dust-Off Championship Qualifier #3 and placed a remarkable overall 2nd. As the first LAN event the team had attended (excluding the WCG US Open), the team wanted to live up to the hype and accomplished that goal.

50Calibre's Counter-Strike 1.6 Roster for the Event was:

Michael "mkpro" Rogers
Dan "dsingh" Singh
Jasper "sfX-" Ko
Jacob "flashback" Carter
Vince "fr3ak" DeCarlo

In Group Play, .50cs was placed in Group C alongside KoM, PainTrain, and Storyville. Coming out on top in each match in great fashion, .50cs secured the #2 seed for the Double Bracket Elimination portion of the event the next day.

The scores for Group C were as follows:
.50cs over PainTrain [19-11]
.50cs over KoM [22-8]
.50cs over Storyville [25-5]

In the Double Elimination portion of the event, .50cs started off with a shocking loss to KoM, who the team beat in convincing fashion just the previous day. This loss meant that the team would have to fight through the Lower Bracket of the competition from Lower Round 1 all the way to the Lower Bracket Finals if they had any hope at securing a prize placing in the tournament. .50cs did just that, defeating every team in its path to the Grand Finals. The team went up against EG.USA in the Grand Finals of the event, trailing 13-2 after the First Half. The team took a crack at a comeback in the Second Half, racking up a score of 16-12 by the end of the match. The odds were stacked against the team, and they prevailed; .50cs walked away with an extremely respectable Second Place finish.

The scores for the Double Elimination portion of the event were as follows:
KoM over .50cs [16-13]
.50cs over the misc [16-8]
.50cs over Fuel Gaming [16-2]
.50cs over iPlay.zoi [16-1]
.50cs over afn [16-14]
EG.USA over .50cs [16-12]

Online Update:

50Calibre Gaming recently competed in the WCG Atlantic Qualifier #3. Dominating all competition in the Single Elimination portion of this online qualifier, the team was placed as the #1 seed for the following weekend's four team Double Elimination Finals. With only one team set to move on to the Atlantic Regionals, .50cs was in a win or go home mindset. The team came out on top and received an invitation to the WCG Atlantic Regional Finals set to take place in August.

.50cs will also be competing in the upcoming CEVO Counter-Strike 1.6 Professional season. Placing well in the previous season, the team was invited to bypass the CEVO Professional Placement tournament and receive a direct bye into league play.
