Spirit of Amiga has cancelled its participation in the GameGune 2008 event. However, GameGune has just unveiled that Spirit of Amiga have decided to not attend the event. This decision comes in the wake of SoA's disappointing campaign at ESWC Masters, where it finished rock bottom of its group with just one point in four games. "Our performances have been very inconsistent. We have beaten major international teams and we have endured major losses as well," a press statement on SoA's website reads. "Lately we have been active in a lot of different tournaments and events, but now we need to get back to basics and work out the last missing steps to achieve more stable performances. "We are very sorry to not being able to participate at Gamegune as it is an event we were looking forward to and it would very nice to be there." SoA's departure leaves GameGune with a 27-team roster. GotFrag.com understands that the remaining five squads will be confirmed still this week.
