dynamic crosshair

Hi,

first post ^^

Just got a question. In CSS, the recoil goes down in stages, according to the crosshair (with dynamiccrosshair 1). Does this mean that the gun suddenly gets much more accurate when it clicks down a stage?

Or is it like in 1.6, where it just gets slowly more accurate?

Confusing question I guess lol.

Wondering this because I was intending on switching to dynamiccrosshair 0, so I could aim better with pistols...

Thanks in advance :)

like in 1.6
It takes that half a second when you switch from standing to crouching until the weapon is most accurate.

Hm good question. Due to further examination we have found that CSS does have recoil, but the recoil is so patheticly mild and so easy to control if you find you are having problems you are probably retarded.
EDIT: PRO TIP DONT CROUCH IN SOURCE

1.6 rifles are insanely easy.

recoil is harder to control in source because it's more random. 1.6 recoil is the same all the time.

From further examination of unrest's comment I can conclude that any advice from unrest is unreliable and inaccurate and should therefore be completely ignored.

yep source recoil is more "mild"

thats why we shoot at feet for headshots?

9 replies ^^ thanks guys... still seems to be fairly open question though lol, lots of dispute. This is not really a question of controlling recoil, more a question of avoiding it.

For example, if you shoot just the INSTANT before the crosshair "snaps" back to its smallest size, is that still more accurate than if you shoot right before it goes up to its next stage.

Different way of asking the question: Is the recoil increase gradual, or in stages?

From the feel of the guns while playing I would say it is gradual... just wanted to check what everyone else thought :)

ty all, and if anyone else has any more ideas plz post :D

#11 i dont know about source because i dont play enough to tell you, but going by my experience in 1.6 is that its gradual but there are stages in which the recoil gets more erratic. For example say you are spraying and it has now reached the top of the crosshair it appears to be at the highest recoil peak, the longer you shoot the more difficult it will be to control because it will sway side to side more and the bullet spread will be larger.

Yeah I just did some experimenting and I agree with you... there are subtle stages in the accuracy.

so the graph of accuracy vs number of bullets shot would look linear, with a couple of sudden drops in it.
