The Dallas Venom pulled off quite an upset in this Championship with all around decent team play and clutch overtime wins. 2. The San Francisco Optx played an impressive playoff and Grand Final, taking it down to the wire in a very exciting overtime match. 3. Team Pandemic reclaimed a familiar spot amongst the CS:S elite with their third place finish in the Championship series. Got Skills? His 99.49 DAR, +18 frag ratio and 14 assists help push his team into the Grand Finals where he led the team in frags. Surprise of the Championship: The Dallas Venom's taking home the money would have to be the surprise of the playoffs and Championship. No one predicted the Venom to make it past the likes of the Core, Guardians or the Optx, especially at the start of the season with a new player. Stock Rising: Team Pandemic had a great performance in the playoffs, finishing in third place. The non-CGS team gave a CGS type performance, finishing well ahead of a majority of the CGS pack. Mike "paradox" Stanowski and the rest of the team have to feel good about things as they look toward the combine. Stock Falling: The Guardian's Cinderella season ended abruptly in two matches of the playoffs. The Optx and Venom took the 12-1, #1 seeded regular season team to task and made the team a non-factor in the playoffs. |
