Title says it all. This is probably my last dod movie seeing as this game is dead as a duck. I decided to do a double feature and figured… who would be better to do it with than Brandon? Anyways, hope you enjoy it. I probably could have touched up a few things, but really didn’t feel like it after I rendered everything out. I also used quite a few ideas from rusty’s movie as far as effects go, so he deserves some credit because they are neat.
Soundtrack: Eddie Vedder – No Ceiling Albert Hammond Jr. – gfc A Perfect Circle – Passive
I am not sure if Passive has been used before. If it has, I’ll have to take a mulligan on that one. I definitely do not like to repeat previously used songs, but I really don’t watch too many dod movies anymore.
Also, we really didn’t have that many demos, so you are going to see the same teams a bunch. I used forcehltv for quite a few clips too, so you may see some of the models glitch. I think I did a good job in keeping that to a minimum though.
High fives go out to my team and also slaughter for making the color pack in Vegas
hmm havent watched a DoD movie in awhile but im obligated to download this
edit:
just watched this. bottom line, i really liked the movie. the kills for the most part werent blow my load amazing but they were all clipworthy. the thing i like about this movie was the way you matched DoD to the music.. the mood was very different during the 2nd song compared to the 3rd song. you did that part very well and it seemed rather distinguished in comparison to other DoD movies I can think of
another thing.. the quality / color management was glorious. i thought i played my game at full max settings and it still doesnt look as good as that. did you do some stuff with the coloring in vegas, or does your game look that good when you play?
i liked a lot of little things about this movie like the camera up to the grenade or allies victorious part... all in all pretty good movie i will keep this behemoth on my hard drive
I don't know, with out Justin Chancellor on bass Keenan is just another singer... I always wanted to check out some of APC but it's hard to falter from tool when you have albums like Lateralus and 10,000 days =X
was a pretty entertaining movie. good use of hltv and/or forcehltv. a lot of the opponents were meh, but it's what the game currently has to offer anyways.
kellen, it really depends on what resolution you play on with your 'full settings' as well as if you use detailed textures or not. the lower your resolution, the more smoothed out the detail quality of your game will be no matter how high your card settings are set at.
Bill I agree with you that APC is much different than tool, but I hated 10,000 days. Most other albums like Lateralus, Aenima, and Undertow are classics though. Passive is the only song I actually liked off of the god awful eMotive album.
