Hello everybody I am new to hl1 based games and was looking for a good game to play. A friend turned me on to these forums so I figured I would ask alittle about the community. I was a big Cod junkie and it looks like this game is a little like it. I like to do scrims and stuff so that plays a big roll in the games I decide to buy. I am just looking for a little input. All source games are friendly to people with no skill. If you want a HL1 game, get CS. This game is bad and the community is worse. This is the most truthful statement you will get from anyone in this community.
If you're going to get source, get HL2 so you can play HL2 mods.
Seriously though, don't get this game. It's been on a respirator for about 2 years now and someone needs to pull the plug on this brain dead retarded awful game.

TF2 is good but your interest will last far longer in HL1 than in HL2 games, it seems like everyones always does
